Renting in Sydney is never easy or cheap. However, 4 years ago we found the perfect apartment for us. On the top floor of a 1930’s building of only 9 units, our beloved apartment has the best of both worlds: character and convenience. Two rooms and a bathroom, a “Juliet” balcony overlooking the charming Rosebery Park and a luscious indoor patio full of plants (which we had to remove). High ceiling with gorgeous molding gave space and air to the unit, decorative features including a guardian angel in the main room and antique door handles where quirky and unique.
We spent lots of time in the open kitchen chatting while one of us cooking. I created a mini studio in the light-filled indoor patio where I would let my creativity shine. We loved the hardwood floors though the main areas and the built-in bookcase.
Above all, the location was fantastic, in a peaceful street in the charming neighbourhood of Darlinghurst, close to shops and bars, and walking distance to the city. Darlinghurst is artsy, eccentric and vibrant and has the most beautiful architecture with Victorian style Townhouses and trees.
In this “Around the Room”, we say goodbye to our home for our first 4 years in Sydney. We’ll miss you Farrell!
